I would have to say google adwords, because of the amount of search traffic that google recieves.

Hello,

We have been working on www.losangelesrugcleaning.com for a while now. The PPC budget is $200 per day. In the past 7 days, we received 82 clicks, average cost per click is $12.66, click through rate is 0.89%, Impressions were 9,169 and average position was 2.6 in the past 7 days. We also received 10 invalid clicks according to AdWords which makes the invalid click rate: 10.87%. According to Google Analytics, we have also had 54 click from Google (organic, in addition to the 82 clicks received from PPC) which makes the total number of visitors from Google 136. The problem is that this site has only converted 1 visitor. This is much lower than what it used to be about a month ago. So the conversion rate now is 0.7% so not even 1%. Before, it was about 10% or more. Cost has gone up but the conversion has become almost zero.

I wanted to get some opinions on what could be the case and why this has been happening. We are suspecting that our competitors are using up most of our budget.

Thank you in advance for all you kind help,
Ashkan Sobhe
Thank you Jack. Yes the CPC is too high. I am not sure why exactly. The page is pretty optimized and the quality score is usually 7+ out of 10. The problem is that these keywords are local in Los Angeles. If someone from Los Angeles googles Carpet Cleaning, they wont get much out of it because they might not be able to find a local carpet cleaner.

We do have privacy policy on the site, there are links to contact page and also we have the physical address on all the pages. I am not sure if you could take a look at the website and see what else might be missing or what it is that we are doing so wrong.

The keywords are in the ads and in the URLs and everything. We have different campaigns to narrow down the targets. Everything is done well and according to the best practices but we just can’t figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions?

I trust you are looking up the ip location and referral site, if too many bogus clicks are from a particular site you could block them.

It looks like your getting shafted on the click prices, some suggest people don’t buy from the first (top) ad they check out, have you tested conversion of lower bid mid position placement, wonder if your landing page is optimized, have keyword matches to the ad? do you have privacy rights and contact links on it? A 10 quality score gives the lowest click prices.

I looked up the google key word tool estimates for pos 1-3
carpets cleaning1 - 3 $3.43
dry carpet cleaning1 - 3 $5.10
carpet steam cleaning1 - 3 $5.49
chemdry carpet cleaning1 - 3 $4.48
wool carpet cleaning1 - 3 $3.42
carpet cleaning service1 - 3 $8.39there’s your cost
carpet cleaning services1 - 3 $6.74
carpet cleaning1 - 3 $6.10
carpet rug cleaning1 - 3 $5.97

One marketing tutorial based on his carpet biz consoling suggested placing a tiny yellow page ad to "call our 24 hour information line" some people will hang on for a 10+ minute presentation of helpful advice and pitching.

Google AdWords PPC Campaign?

Hi all, I have a PPC account. with 100s of keywords. But the main keyword i want to show up just wont! Every other keyword does. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

maybe your bid $ is not enough.

try spyfu.com and search for the keyword.
it should give you an estimate of the bid $

What percentage or share does Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and Bings PPC program take out per click?

That information is not published. Your tools for each site will only show you what you get paid, but it is well known that of those three, Google AdSense is probably the best.

i have been selling clickbank products for nearly 6 months. i have spent nearly $500 in pay per click ads in google adwords & facebook ads.
but till date i managed only $400 in profits.

can anyone suggest some other way of promoting click bank products other than PPC?

Does anyone know what is the best training to become a good affiliate marketer with the use of a pay per click engine like Google Adwords?

There are tons of guides out there introducing adwords, sorry them kind of become a blur to me, it’s worth viewing at least one over the shoulder tutorial video package, to ge a feel for the flow, you can probably find something at clickbank in the $20 range, though googles online educational material is extensive and will teach you all of the mechanics.

If you were investing in a single package, get something that encompasses a broader range including adwords, perhaps a general affiliate marketing package, or looking a step further, a CPA marketing package, which will often touch on PPC as one if several promotion techniques. The CPA packages tend to be pricey though, because that that way the big money hunters go.

Perry Marshal has a ton of training material out there, his definitive Adwords guide should be OK, he has a 3 level pricing arrangement starting at $49, which is something new for this sort of product, (beats back-selling the advanced version) might pay off if you need an adwords voucher.

After writing the comments, I checked, THE 2 BELOW APPEAR TO HAVE RECENTLY GONE INACTIVE, sorry about that.
One adword specific package I found useful crackingtheadwordscode.com priced at $39.95 seems to have a broken neglected cart link. Guess I and 2 year old packages are out of touch.

I found Affiliate Blueprint to be one of the most practical nuts and bolts guides with 4 1/2 hours of material showing in detail his exact day to day PPC routine, he made extensive use of spreadsheets for tracking, it was produced in 2008, if made today it would probably just add emphasis to google’s quality rating system, unfortunately has been recently pulled off the market to clear the way for the more costly Affiliate Blueprint II which is really a complimentary product, relying entirely on SEO traffic instead of PPC. While version 1 sold last for $97, version 2 is more like $397. Perhaps you can find someone with version 1.

I have other PPC ad accounts. In analytics I can see how many visitors I am getting and how long they stay on the page, bounce rate etc…but I can’t seem to figure out how I track how many of them turn in to sales. My account gives me overall goal conversion but says they are all coming from my shopping cart as the source. Any ideas?

Some people worry that analytics would enable to know what you are earning from your ads, and would price them proportionally. there are Ok alternatives like statCounter

Affiliate companies will pass on tracking code you can attach to clicks, allowing you to track conversion, the form is something like:

www.destination?tid=ad3site4 (tid for clickbank, sid is for CJ) ad3site4 is your secret code 8 char max

The big budget operators can use statsjunky.com which automates the tracking process to a sick degree, though again sharing results with a 3rd a party may not be for the truly paranoid.

How can I cut my PPC costs?

I’m having problems using pay per click (PPC), mainly Google Adwords, since it is now just sooo expensive that it makes it not worthwhile to even be in business.

Does anyone know any way that I can either cut my PPC costs, or increase the number of people who buy - I guess mainly I want to make some profit again, so I guess the main thing is cutting the costs, although more turnover for the same spend would I guess be the same thing.

Are there any good websites, tips, courses, books, etc that can help - or can any of you help please? I’m up against it and desperately need help.

Thanks,
Jan

I think John M gives some good advice, don’t automatically go for 1st palce and make sure your ads are relevant to what you do.

You could try PPC management companies, but they tend to be very expensive and you really don’t know who you’re dealing with, it could be some kid sat in their bedroom at their moms house - you get the idea..

One product I would recommend is here at http://www.ppc-management.org - it didn’t cut out costs by 90% as they claim to for some, but it did save us around 65% which is still pretty impressive, you just have to watch out then that Google and co don’t keep putting the costs up!

I use google adwords and yahoo, put the price per click is out of control! Any help please?

Yea, pay per click IS out of control so if you want quality traffic to your website, I would go ahead and start using a pay per view company like mediatraffic.com or linksador.com. There are others like trafficvance but that company requires minimum deposit of $1000 and you need a referral. Linksador.com traffic is really high quality and I have all my bids for only .01. Mediatraffic is somewhat more expensive because of competition and minimum deposit is $200.
