We do a lot of adwords with google and sell bathrobes. http://www.plushrobes.com
Yes, but results vary for every advertiser and conversion results are dependent on numerous factors, including site quality, content uniqueness and quality, product quality, customer service, clean usable site design, plenty of call to action and landing page optimization to test and continually improve results.
However research has shown lower conversion rates on Yahoo compared to Google. MSN conversion rates are slightly higher, but they produce a miniscule amount of conversions compared to Google and Yahoo. You may end up getting lower conversion rates on Yahoo and MSN, but if you're cost to compete is significantly less than Google, you may actually be earning more with Yahoo or MSN. Google dominates the search market share, but if your budget allows it and you have resources to manage such an endeavor, it's a wise move to maintain campaigns with all 3 of the top tier providers, Google, Yahoo and MSN. Your own testing should indicate which engine provides the highest conversion rate for you and should garner the largest investment.
Best of Luck,

PPC Marketing alternatives to Google Adwords
================== ================== ==================
Every good website receives most of its traffic from search engines only. 60% of searches are made in Google only. 99% Searches are done in top 3 Search Engines only, namely Google , Yahoo ( or altavista ) and MSN ( or live ).
So it will be better if you have a PPC advertising campaign in three search engines.
However Google Adwords is no doubt the best PPC in terms of amount of traffic and quality of targeted traffic. I will recommend you to use all three.
1. Google Adwords
2. Yahoo Search Marketing.
3. Microsoft ( MSN ) Adcenter
Before creating accounts in these sites I wil, recommend you to search for Discount Coupons. Discount Coupons gives you right way to start and research at minimum costs. upto $200 Discount coupons are available for all these programs. Contact me if you find none for free.

I Setup and manage Google adwords PPC accounts, I currently use Google conversion tracking, I'm looking for more accurate tracking, and for something that will give me more info about the order (for e-commerce sites) like order amount so that we could clearly report to our customers and figure out exact ROI.
HBX has a very good ecommerce tracking feature where you can connect your PPC campaigns to it. However, their stats packages are priced steeply aroun $25,000 per license.
Use Google Analytics and properly configure the Goals setting. They also have a funnel analysis as well as capability to track dollar amounts. Though it may not provide you with the level of granularity you want, but at least it is free and it's a start
